26 Amazing Ways To Celebrate Fall

Fall, autumn harvest time is one of my favorite times of the year. I like all times of the year or a seasonal change. This article will share my favorite things about fall, from food, scents, fashion, movies, and activities. When I think of autumn, I think of Hallmark movies, fall leaves, and pumpkin patches. It makes me feel warm and nostalgic and excited to kick off the fall season.

As I write this, I’m thinking of all the ways I can fit orange into my daily wardrobe and bringing out my favorite boots. There are so many great things about Fall that it’s hard to chose only 26 Amazing Ways To Celebrate Fall, but I’ll give it my best shot!

26 Amazing Ways To Celebrate Fall

Apple cider donuts

The best apple cider donuts come from Julian, California. Julian is a charming mountain town about sixty miles east of San Diego. Julian is known for its world-class apple orchards and apple pie. I try to go to Julian as often as possible to get away from the city and explore the great outdoors.

Apple picking

Have you ever picked your apples? When I think of fall, I think of fresh apples from Julian and the masses of families going to the apple orchid together and filling up baskets to take home.

Autumn sunsets

Sunsets in autumn have their unique flare than other times of the year. The sky at dusk seems to have more pinks, orange, and purples than other times of the year.

Baked apples

Autumn equals fresh baked apples with cinnamon and sugar. My Mom would always bake them during the fall; it is one of my favorite treats to have for dessert.

Bobbing for apples

A simple, silly, and nostalgic activity that gets you soaked! Bobbing for apples is so much fun at any age.

Caramel apples

Okay, I know you can eat Carmel apples all year round but having a delicious juicy apple during football season is the best!

Carving pumpkins

I’m not very good at carving pumpkins, but I enjoy watching others or painting weird faces on the pumpkins.

Charlie Brown movies

Watching Charlie Brown Halloween movie is the best way to kick off the fall season with The Great Pumpkin. This movie never gets old and is a throwback favorite.

Chili cookoff

There’s nothing like a hot bowl of chili during the fall. Chili reminds me of tailgating and high school snack bars at a football game. Last year I participated in my church’s chili cook-off. I’ll admit I normally don’t eat chili, but I didn’t want the same guy to win the chili cookoff for the 8th year in a row! I didn’t win, but I did have one lady who loved my chili and took a bunch home with her, which made my day. Check out the chili cook-off recipe that I used last year.

Crisp autumn air

Don’t you love feeling the crisp autumn air on your face when you walk out the door in the morning?

Corn mazes

Who knew that getting lost could be so fun! A good old fashioned corn maze must-do during the fall to do with family and friends.

Daylight savings (it gets dark earlier)

Summer seems to be everyone’s favorite time of year because of the extra hours of daylight, but sometimes it’s nice to have it get dark earlier. The nights seem longer and make me feel like I get more rest, and the city receives quite first with plenty of time to curl up under the harvest moon.

 Decorating for Halloween

Ghost and goblins, cats, and bats are just a few things you need to get into the Halloween spirit.  Decorating, dressing up in costumes and playing your favorite spooky place list is just what you need to scare the daylights out of those trick or treaters.

Fall bonfire

Curl up by the fire and make s’mores at a autumn bonfire.

Fall fashion

Scarfs, boots, and turtle necks make a comeback during the fall months. I love fall color palettes of orange, mustard yellow, and reds.

Fall leaves

Seeing the leaves change colors is the official start of autumn. Leaves changes aren’t as dramatic where I live in California, but other places back east have an array of reds, orange, and yellow trees to enjoy.

Fall wreaths

Colorful fall wreaths adorn the doors of homes as the fall season gets closer to Thanksgiving.

Fall scented candles

Pumpkin spiced scents and flavors dominate the stores and rest during autumn. Every year chefs and baristas get more creative with the flavors and fragrances of fall. I especially love going to Bath and Bodyworks during the autumn season because their summer scents are on sale, and I can spend all day smelling new candle scents and lotions.

Hallmark movies

Hallmark movies are my favorite to watch during fall and winter. Yes, the film is sappy and cheese but heartwarming and sweet. If your a Hallmark hunk like me, download their Hallmark app so you can watch movies anywhere you go.

Halloween

Festive costumes, games, and spooky stories are my favorite things about Halloween. It gives children and adults alike permission to be playful and overindulge in candy and dress up in your scariest or most seductive outfit.

Harvest Moon

As I write this blog, a beautiful harvest moon is shining through a light layers of coastal fog. Fall is a perfect time to head outside and go sky gazing and enjoy the heavenly light.

Hot cider

Hot cider is a must during the crisp autumn mornings. I grab my favorite brand at Target for under $2 and drink away.

My birthday

My birthday is a day before Halloween, so my party theme is always Halloween with black and orange decor. I especially loved that my birthday was so close to Halloween because it felt like two days to celebrate and feast on candy and cake.

Orange shades for every day of the week

Need I say more?

Pumpkins patches

It’s always a fun event to hunt for the perfect pumpkins to carve or paint for your Halloween display. My favorite pumpkin patch is called Bates Nut Farm. They have pumpkins, food, petting zoo, hayrides and a general store.

Spooky old movies on TCM

If you want to see some fantastic scary movies, watch TCM on Friday nights for classic scary movies. Your sure to find a new favorite.

Lastly, I love fall because it kicks off the holiday season!
