18 Festive Fall Activities
Are you looking for fun festive fall activities to do on your own or with a group? In this article, “18 Festive Fall Activities,” I have 18 fun activities to enjoy either on your own or with family and friends. Fall is the perfect season to enjoy the outdoors and to celebrate the season’s colors, flavors, and seasonal activities to get you in the mood for Halloween, pumpkin patches, and Harvest festivals.
There is so much to do, and we got you covered. Fall brings back many memories of going to football games, dressing up for Halloween, and eating pumpkin bread. This is especially important if you feel stressed at work or home. Having a change of season bring renewed energy and excitement. If you’re feeling dragged down by a mundane daily routine, these fall activities are just what you need to brighten your day or spice up your weekend.
Pumpkin Patch
The first must-do activity is to go to a pumpkin patch to kick off the fall season. This is a wonderful activity to do with your friends or family. One of my favorite pumpkin patches is Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center, California. It has everything you could ever want in a pumpkin patch with hay rides, a petting zoo, a corn maze, and a country store filled with candy, nuts, and specialty gift items. There is so much to do, and most of all, there are a variety of pumpkins and gourds for families to take home and decorate or to use in meals.
Apple Picking – Visit Cidery
Fall is apple season and the perfect time to go out and pick apples. It’s perfect for a date, friends’ day, or time on your own. It gets a great activity to get you out into nature, pick apples to take home with you, and make pies, cider, and a delicious treat to add to your lunch bag. Apples are also perfect for bobbing for apples for your Halloween parties.
Decorate Home For Fall
It’s time to decorate your home for fall with the colors of falling leaves. It’s time to stock up on Halloween decorations. Turn on some of your favorite music and fill your home with scented candles, fall foliage, and pumpkins.
Chili Cook-Off
Fall rings in the season for chili and chili cook-offs. If you’re a cook, this is your time to bring your best chili recipes, get competitive, and enter into a chili cook-off at your church or fall festival.
Jump In A Pile Of Leaves
If you’re thinking, “There is no well in hell that I’m jumping in some dirty leaves,” then that’s a sign that you need to lighten up and do it. This is a perfect exercise to help you be more present and enjoy the little spontaneous moments that life has to offer you. If you’re still hesitant about jumping into a pile of leaves, try raking the leaves in your yard slowly and turn this chore into a meditative moment with the added benefit of cleaning up your home.
Go Camping
Pack up the car, head up to the moments over the weekend and enjoy the crisp fall air with friends or family. Take a hike, go fishing, or camp out under the stars. Fall is the perfect time to plan a little getaway.
Go To A Football Game
Kick off the fall season with football. Whether it’s a high school, college, or NFL game, you got to get into the spirit. So host a football party at your house or tailgate before heading to the game.
Friendsgiving
Thanksgiving is a time to express gratitude and love to the friends that have your back. Plan a Friendsgiving party for friends who are single or friends who can’t make it home to visit family for Thanksgiving.
Donate To Food Bank or Shelter
Give back to the community and support those less fortunate by volunteering at a shelter or donating food to a local food bank. During the fall food, banks begin to stock up to prepare holiday meals and need the community’s help to donate non-perishable foods. Coordinate a food drive at work or church and set a goal for a specific number of pounds that you collect.
Pumpkin Latte & Buy A Stranger A Cup Of Coffee
Seasonal food and drinks are plenty, with pumpkin spiced lattes, apple pie, and sweet potato pie. So why not share the wealth and do a random act of kindness? Buy a cup of coffee for the person behind you in the Starbucks drive-thru, or make pumpkin spice bread for your neighbors.
