I consider myself a low maintenance type of chick and all of my products are affordable and easy to use.
Primer
NYX Matte Primer I use every day before I put on my makeup. I have oily skin, and this primer does a decent job of slower the shine. I bought this primer at CVS. I use a dime-sized drop of NYX Matte Primer and rub it onto my face. Pay particular attention to the areas that get oily. The areas that I focus on are my nose and cheeks. The primer goes on smooth and doesn’t clog my pores.
Foundation
M.A.C. Studio Fix Liquid Foundation is my favorite foundation of all-time. It’s a perfect match for my skin tone, and finding a perfect foundation match African-American woman’s skin tone is difficult. Luckily I was able to find my perfect shade NC 45. I get so many compliments about my skin looking so bright. M.A.C. Studio Fix Foundation is the reason my skin looks flawless. I don’t have to wear any concealer because the foundation provides me with excellent coverage.
I would encourage anyone who is having a hard time getting a perfect match for your foundation to go to a make store and get matched. You might need to blend two shades of liquid foundation to get your match. A great tip that a M.A.C. makeup artist recommended is to go outside and look at your foundation in the sunlight. This helps to see if a foundation is too yellow in tone or too dark.
Powder
M.A.C. Studio Fix Powder NC 44 is another product that I use every day. I don’t leave my house without putting on the foundation and my powder. I get a beautiful, flawless finish on my skin, and I could walk out the door as is and feel good about myself. I love this powder because it goes on light and doesn’t look cakey on my skin. The beautiful thing about this foundation that it lasts all day. I rarely need to reapply my powder, and my makeup stays on when I sweat.
Blush
My go-to blush is Merle Normans In The Pink. I also use Nars Orgasm blush for a while, but I like Merle Normans blush better. The blush is a darker shade of pink with glitter, so I get that naturally rose glow on the apples of my cheeks. As far as I know, you can only purchase Merle Norman products online or finding a Merle Norman store.
Setting Spray
Setting spray is a bit of a challenge but I do prefer M.A.C. Setting Spray the most. It sets my makeup and keeps my makeup on all day. I don’t have to reapply my makeup during the day and its even keeps my makeup on during a hard workout. M.A.C. Setting spray is price and I do go through a lot of it. Another go to setting spray is NYX Mattifying setting spray. My face gets oily throughout the day and I wanted a setting spray that would cutdown on the shine. I’ve only been using NYX Mattifying setting spray for a few weeks now and I actually prefer M.A.C setting spray because it feels light on my skin.
Eyeshadow

Eyebrows
There are a few eyeshadow palettes that I like to use, but the one that I use the most is Mariah Carey’s M.A.C. eyeshadow palette. The colors are mostly neutral and sparkle. I use at least one of the eyeshadow colors each day from the “I’m That Chick You Like” eyeshadow palette. I use the dark chocolate shadow “Can’t Escape Me” to line my upper eyelashes. It gives them an extra smokey look and gives my lash the appearance of being fuller. Each color is named after one of her songs.
I also use a couple of eyeshadow colors from Kylie’s “The Burgundy Palette” I usually use the colors Naked and Beach. These two colors are nude tones as well, and I use them as a base color of my eyelid.
Mascara
The best mascara on the market has to be L’Oreal Voluminous Mascara. It gives my eyelashes a healthy boost and length that I don’t get with any other mascara. I won’t leave home without putting on my mascara. It gives me life!
Lipstick
My everyday lipstick is from M.A.C. Mariah Carey line called, “It’s Getting O.O.C..” I love this lipstick color because it’s neutral and gives me just a little bit of color. The lipgloss that I use is also from M.A.C. Mariah Carey’s collaboration called “It’s Just Like Honey.” This nude lipgloss gives you a hint of color but a natural look. What I like the most is that the lipgloss goes on light and isn’t sticky.
Oil Control
To control the shine on my face, I use a couple of products to mattify my skin and control oil. My must-have product is Murad Mattifying Oil Perfector. This product is unique to me because I was part of a testing study before the product went on the market. I can honestly say this is the best product on the market to control oil. Just blot the product on, and it will control oil for a couple of hours. You can use it again if you’re still oily.
