Fall Self-Care Routine, September Plan With Me.
A new month is here, and it’s time to plan my fall self-care routine! Now is the time to organize and set self-care goals for the month ahead. Get an inside look at my fall self-care routine and how having a self-care plan and personal growth can help you take consistent steps to move toward your dreams and create space to make yourself a priority.
The consistent theme I hear from women of all ages is that they don’t have the time to take care of themselves or that their family, spouse, or career is more important than nurturing yourself, but this is the wrong approach. To have a happy, healthy, and balanced life to give the best to your employer and family is to give love to yourself.
To know where you’re going, you have to have a plan. This doesn’t mean that your plans won’t change but having a roadmap to focus on what lies ahead is. Spending time reflecting on your goals and must do during the month will give you a template for your life that can keep you on track in the different areas of your life. Through this article, you’ll see my processes for getting my mind right for the month and being intentional with life instead of letting life take over me. Having a plan has been my saving grace for the last few months, with many changes going on in my life. I hope that my processes may help you to align your life with your dream vision for your life so you can take actionable steps towards creating the life that you deserve.
Goal Setting At The Beginning Of The Month
Before the beginning of the month, I schedule a time to sit down on a Sunday and write down my goals in my planner. During this uninterrupted planning session, I review some of my goals from last month and success and then write down the goals that I would like to accomplish this month in the next 30 days for health, self-care, relationship, career, and financial goals. This gives me a structure for the month that keeps me focused on the things that need to get done. Once I’m done, I add this into my weekly section of my planned and break down the specific tasks for each week.
I’m paying special attention to this month’s finances and health. My goal is to drop another 40 pounds by February 1, 2023, and I have been in the process since last November. I have five months to go, and my weight hasn’t gone down, but my body composition is changing, my body fat percentage is dropping, and gaining muscle. So here are my goals for each area of my life for September.

Workout Refresh
Losing weight has been an uphill battle over the last few months. While I’ve noticeably dropped some weight, the number on the scale has been the same for the last few months. However, there has been an improvement in how I feel, my body fat percentage has slowly dropped, and I’ve gained muscle, but not a huge change in dress sizes. So now it’s time to take a second look at my nutrition and workout routine.
Since March, I’ve only worked out three days a week, and I showed the most progress when I exercised five days a week and abstained from alcohol. Reevaluating my fitness and nutrition before my next quarterly fitness check-in will give me plenty of time to adjust to my daily wellness routine. If you have similar goals, it’s a good idea to ask yourself questions like Do I need to adjust my nutrition or challenge myself to increase my weight by 5 pounds?
Fall Decluttering and Cleaning
Since I was a kid, I have always wanted to be organized, but no matter how hard I tried, I always felt disorganized and that no matter how hard I cleaned, my place was still cluttered and dirty. This might have a lot to do with my perfectionist tendencies, but I decided that I would focus on mastering cleaning and organization in September.
My main source of inspiration has been Tik Tok videos, and now I’m obsessed! I invested in a new mop and now have a cleaning schedule. I realized that I felt that the world and my life were out of my control and that nothing seemed to be going right, and the only thing I could control was myself and my reaction to the stressors in my life.
Instead of binge drinking or overeating, I’ve been using cleaning and decluttering to manage my anxiety and keep my depression in check. One of my favorite Tik Tok influencers on cleaning is @momthatlovestoclean. She has great tips and even a cleaning workbook with cleaning hacks and a weekly cleaning schedule.
Now that you’ve seen my process for planning my self-care throughout the month, you’ll know exactly what to do for November. One final suggestion, which is the most important, is at the end of the month to sit down and reflect on the things that you’ve accomplished and ten things that you are grateful for, and how can you improve in the coming month.
