How To Plan The Perfect Summer Day
Summer is upon us, and it’s time to get focused on enjoying the season! In this article, “How To Plan The Perfect Summer Day,” I’ll show you how to create a perfect summer day during social distancing. We have to accept that this summer will be the most awkward summer of all time, but we can still have a fantastic time. I’ll give you tips on how to plan the perfect summer day and find solutions to potential obstacles. The essential ingredients for an ideal summer day are fun, sun, and food.
Put It On Your Calendar
The first way to plan the perfect summer day is to dedicate a full day for yourself. That means requesting time off and making sure that you take the entire day to relax. That may mean turning off your phone to prevent yourself from answering work emails or answers phone calls from clients. Also, make sure that you have nothing else scheduled for later on in the day. Not having a time crunch will vastly improve the quality of your day because you won’t feel rushed.
What Do You Want To Do?
What are some of the things that you like to do in the summer? Do you enjoy going to the beach? Would you enjoy grabbing a scoop of ice cream with a friend? How about going to a day spa for a whole day of pampering?
Create A Detailed Plan & Timeline
Sit down and make a list of activities that bring you joy, and then make reservations, invite friends, or research everything that you will need to make your day a success. After completing your list, make a timeline of everything that you need to do ahead of time.
For example, if I wanted to plan a beach party, I would need to research how busy the beach is in the summer and determine how early I would need to get there to secure a spot. Then, I’d check with the city or state website to see if there are any restrictions on the number of people you can have at a specific location.
Then I would determine what I need for a fun beach party and make a budget. Then you can continue to break down the list to see what you have at home that you can use and what you need to buy. The whole purpose of planning a perfect summer day is for you to enjoy it and not stress over cooking and decorating. You might consider ordering food and picking it up before the party starts or have a potluck.
Brainstorming is a great way to work out the details for planning a perfect summer day. First, make a list of people that you trust to delegate tasks or seek advice from.
Make A List
Two days before your special summer day, it’s time to make a list of everything that you need. Make a list of the supplies such as food, water, games, first aid, beach items, etc.
If hiking is your idea of a perfect summer day, make a list of all of the things you would need for the hike and pack them. Getting prepared two days in advance will help you gather your supplies and purchase items you’re missing if you plan to travel. Start packing at least four days in advance, so you don’t have to stress.
Who Would You Invite For Your Perfect Summer Day?
Now that you’ve envisioned your perfect summer day, who would you invite? Is there anyone in your life that would make your day even more special? When choosing someone to share your day with, can you imagine everything going seamlessly? If your day ended up not being perfect, could you still have fun with this person? These are the essential questions to ask yourself before you invite anyone to your ideal summer day. You want people who are positive and drama-free to add a fun and friendly atmosphere.
Have A Backup Plan
No matter how well we plan, something always gets in the way. If you plan a day at the beach and it rains, that could ruin your plans. Having a backup plan in case something happens will help you to salvage a day if needed. If it rains, you could still have lunch at a beachfront restaurant and take a walk on the boardwalk with your umbrella. Get creative and get flexible so you can rest at ease, knowing that you have other options.
How I Plan A Perfect Summer Day
My ideal summer day is waking up early and heading down to La Jolla and having breakfast at Duke’s. I would order their macadamia nut pancakes, scrambled eggs, and bacon. I would order a mimosa and a lava flow. I would sit down and enjoy my breakfast while looking at the beautiful few of La Jolla shores.
After breakfast, I would go for a walk along the shore and enjoy the cool morning air on my skin. I’d then head over to a local day spa and get a facial, manicure, pedicure, and a 90-minute deep tissue massage. I’d linger for an hour or two and sit in the sauna.
By this time, it would be noon, and I would head over to the beach and have a picnic lunch. I would spend a few hours relaxing in the sun and writing in my journal. I’d take a little nap under my beach umbrella, and then I head out to the mountains.
I’d meet up with my friend Alyssa, and we would take a long hike on one of our favorite trails. We would hike to the top of the mountain, watch the sunset, and head back to town. After that, we would head to our favorite restaurant and have a delicious meal and tons of cocktails. Then I’d head home, take a shower, and write about my day in my journal.
There you have it! That would be a perfect day in my eyes.
