Do you ever have those times when your in one of those moods where you want to be left alone? That’s my mood the majority of the time, so I am an expert on staycation essential.
Must-Have Staycation Essentials
Staycation Essential 1 – Comfy Pajamas
The whole point about a staycation is to relax, so putting on a pair of your most comfortable pajamas is the icing on the cake. My favorite pair of pajamas is Victoria Secrets cotton long pajama set.
These are the most comfortable pajamas that I own. They are light and soft and perfect to lounge around the house in. My best friend bought me a pair a few Christmases ago, and they are still my favorite. They can be a little sheer, so you definitely want to put a robe on before answering the door.
Staycation Essential 2 – Blanket
Comfy blankets are my go-to items when I’m in my stay-at-home mode. Personally, I have more blankets than the average person that my Mom has made me over the years. I do favor one blanket over the others because they have personal meaning to me.
My other favorite blanket is Victoria’s Secret blanket that was given to me by a student’s Mom. I usually keep it in the car with me to snuggle up with when I get cold. It’s a long, thick blanket that I can fall asleep in easily.
Staycation Essentials 3 – DoorDash
As often as I use DoorDash, I should probably have stock. You can order just about anything from DoorDash and have your favorite meal delivered to you in less than an hour. If you have a membership, you don’t have to pay for your delivery, just your food and tip for the driver. Don’t forget dessert!
Staycation Essentials 4 – Favorite Movies & Shows
The perfect time to binge-watch is now! If there are movies or television shows you’ve meant to catch up on, this is the perfect opportunity.
Staycation Essentials 5 – Happy Hour
Because you don’t have to worry about driving anywhere, have a cocktail or two! You can drink and dance around, and no one will be there to judge you. Go on BevMo.com and have them deliver your favorites!
Staycation Essentials 6 – Relaxing Bath
A nice hot bath is just what you need for a relaxing staycation. Make sure to load up on your favorite bath gels and bath bombs for some aromatherapy. Set the mood with quiet music and candles to make it feel like a spa setting.
Staycation Essentials 7 – A Good Book
Staycation is all about slowing down and exploring new sights and sounds in your local community. Why not explore a book you’ve been meaning to read? If reading sounds like a drag then listen to a podcast or book on audible. You can sit back and relsax and listen to the narrator.
Staycation Essentials 8 – Cook A Meal
If you’re a foodie that loves to try new recipes, then cooking a fabulous meal for one is just right for you. Stock up on groceries or have them delivered and cook up your favorite meal. Set the table and light candles and enjoy sitting down and having a meal with your favorite person….which is you!
There are tons of cooking tutorials on Food Network or YouTube. Try them out and post a picture on your Instagram.
Staycation Essential 9 – Dance Party
Solo dance parties are the most underrated activity in the history of mankind. Okay, that was a dramatic statement but turning on some old-school jams is always a good workout and a fun way to let loose. Dancing is a great way to get in touch with your body and not worry about anyone judging your dance moves.
Staycation Essentials 10 – Makeover
Have you wanted to change up your own vibe? Pull out your makeup bag and find some of your favorite makeup tutorials. This is always a favorite pastime to make yourself over whenever you want.
My favorite YouTube videos are “Get Ready With Me” makeup tutorials. Who doesn’t love to play dress-up and have a mini home photoshoot? You can easily spend hours trying new makeup looks and hairstyles and you have no prior commitments.
Staycation Essentials 11 – Home Manicure & Pedicure
Staying home is the perfect time to do a little self-care. Spend time pampering yourself and give yourself a manicure and pedicure. Painting your nails can be a mindfulness exercise that helps you focus on the present moment because you don’t want to mess up your nail polish!
